Question about changing the oil
Got some questions, im going to be changing my oil today but i need to know a few things before i go buy some stuff.
1. Type of oil? i used to use Royal purple in my h22 (sold) and it worked great, would you reccomend it in this case?
2. What weight? right now im running 5w30, but i thought that most hondas use 10w30. should i just stick with 5w30? (car is in AZ if this has any affect)
3. what oil filter do i use? like what car can i get one off from? G2 GSR, 99-00 Si?
Thanks guys!

I have taken to using 5W-30 Non-synthetic on my A6 over in here in Florida. I just use a standard oil filter I get at Autozone (anything not FRAM IMO works, no need to get to the which one filters 2 more particles argument). I believe all the B-Series and D-Series (But no limited to just those two) are interchangeable as far as oil filters go.
1. Oil, your pick, just change it 3 to 4K miles.
2. Depends on the milage,if low go for 5W30, higher go for 10W
3. Honda S2000, the 2004 up oil filter.

id just get regular Castrol 10w30 oil...
with the s2000 filter, if you buy them in bulk from honda, do they include the crush washer you are suppose to replace every oil change?

i buy the cheapest **** i can. as long as the api service rating is current, i think its SL right now, then itll be the same as the name brand oil. i work at a oil change place and its safe to say that almost every single honda takes the same filter. accords civics oddyseys
I have researched this also and decided to go with the Castrol GTX 10w-30/10w-40 OR Chevron Supreme 10w-30/10w-40. Both are dino oils that came up with good results in new and used oil analyses. For a filter, I use Purolator Plus L24458 which is an oversized filter and costs $2.99. I also use neodymium magnets on the filter housing. I believe this combination is good for at least 5K mile oil change intervals.

4 quarts is what is needed...well actually a little less
To clean a k&n filter just wash the filter with a hose and let it dry. Then reoil it using a their oil. You can buy their reoiling kits at any parts store that sells k&n filters

I run 4 qts in my b16a which brings the oil level to the top hole on the dipstick....Here is the exact number...
Engine oil capacity 4.8 L (5.1 US qt, 4.2 Imp qt) for engine dissassembly
4.0 L (4.2 US qt, 3.5 Imp qt) for oil change
Actually it is a little more than 4qts so I was wrong.
