Default sohc non vtec vs. sohc vtec

debating on witch one. im planing on an a6 bottom end with forged rods and pistons.
around 10.5 comp and a large shot of nitrous.
i hate how u cant cant really adjust the timing if you use a6 dist. on the z6 head, and i dont really know if i want to spend the money on z6 dist. ecu and odb1 conversion harness.
will i really be at that much of a disavantage using the a6 head if i get a cam 3 angle valve job and light port work.

if you are willing to put that much work into the a6 head the a6 will maybe make a little more thatn the stock vtec i had a a6 and a d16z6 and the z6 was way faster

honda heads already have 3 angle valve job.
if you're tired of being getto just spend the cash and get the z6 dizzy and jumper harness

thanks for all the input.

i have both heads and have used both.
its just with the price of the a6 cams being very cheap would how much of a disadvantage would it be

i have been lookin at some exospeed stuff

it just seems like i might be a bit simpler.

and i was planing on redoing what ever head i do use

You can make some get power with the a6 , but u also gotta be willin to sacrifice gas mileage and a lil low end. The point of vtec is to have low end torque, high end hp, and a non-aggressive streetable cam profile for good gas mileage. I have a Delta 272 camshaft in my a6, pulls harder than my buddies a6/z6 mini-me. Best 100 i ever spent.
