Default Cleaning parts?

Just got my mpfi manifold and its coated in crap. Other than going to town on it with some break cleaner, whats a good way to clean it?

Simple Green works great. Other than that, some dish soap and water works wonders!!

I got the perfect solution. Just go to an auto parts store and get a can of AIRPLANE PAINT REMOVER. Its a spray type chemical and it works wonders. Spray it on, let it sit for about 3 minutes and just hose it off, repeat if necessary. Or you can get a small can of JASCO at your nearets home depot and does exactly the same thing except youll have to apply it with a paint brush. whatever you do DO NOT get it on your skin.

That's if you don't pass out after the smell of the fumes.

The aircraft paint remover will eat away at your rubber gaskets. You dont want to have more of an oil leak.

Go to wal-mart and buy like 10 cans of super tech( walmart brand) carb cleaner. I thinks its like 88 cents a can. That and a toothbrush you will have a clean motor. Simple green and a pressure washer work awesome too.

In case you didnt read properly, he stated he just got his manifold meaning its probably not even on the engine so I wouldnt worry about that! If you really want a good job on the cleaning part I would just strip it of the sensors and clean it like I mentioned earlier. Trust me IT WORKS, and its very simple task to do. I got pictures to prove it, I'll try to post them tonight.

TO YOU, read better next time!<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by hahagasdcrx &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">

lol..... siple green! .... no, carb cleaner!
what a heated debate!

what I use is a jug of simple green, and an air compressor that has an attatchment for liquids such as degreasers and other solvents! its pretty sweet because I can shoot the concentrated simple green directly on it with a lot of air pressure behind it

I would agree with EF9Si-T here. Air plane cleaner is hardcore and very easy. Use gloves, lol!

Sweet debate going, never thought to try the dishwasher but the wife might kill me. I picked up a bottle of simple green and a large bucket from home depot. I'll take pics as I go.

I got pics, let me post them up. they probably suck a little . I used a camera phone and LED flashlight as a flash.

I did all of the outside and inside, every last crevice.

you can see from the trhottle body right inro the intake all the way to the end cap

here is one into the runners, pic sucks, but I assure you its all clean aluminum

The best thing I have used is liquid Drano. Its acidic so it cleans really well. Just dont get it in your eyes or smell the fumes. Works wonders!

actually drano isn't acidic at all its extremely basic thats why it won't eat away at the aluminum like acids do its good for unclogging sinks too, no doubt.
