I have a 2000 accord v6 sedan. And today after getting my haircut, i come back to start the car, but when i turn the key the starter motor works but the engine dont start and also the battery light and oil light came up. Then i start it again, the engine starts but the rpm tachometer fluctuates alot under the the 1ooo point, moving up little then down. And also i can hear the engine sputtering or shaking.

So i give it some gas while in park and warm the engine up. The Engine stoped suttering. and i drive my car home, but when I stop at red lights i can see the rpm tachometer fluctuating somewhat but the engine does not sputter. I got home and parked it, the tachometer still fluctuates and the engine sort of trieds to die on it self.

Can anybody tell me the reason why this is happening to the car. I not very good with cars and stuff, so any help would be great. Thanks in advance.

need to know if this is AT or MT. More than likely your idle needs to be adjusted

 

start simple and work you way to the more expensive parts. the first thing i would cheack is the sparkplugs, im not sure if new honda motors have coil packs right above the sparkplugs or if they still have wires. all the cheap **** basically, then i would guess the alternator if everything else doesnt fix it .
