DIY or pay
i do everything on my cars. if i cant do it then its not getting done unless its absolutely necessary. then if someone else does it i watch over their shoulder the whole time. i dont trust other mechanics
that is a huge generalization ur making there. You are not saying what kind of work, what kind of money were talking about, how labor extensive it is... know what I mean?

I use to be a DIY, but now I don't have space to work on my own car. I'd say if you got the space (i.e. garage) then be a "DIY".
Now I just pay for someone to do it for me.

Well if you got the skills, then you don't need to go into detail about it. Anyting from making your own turbo manifold in your garage to a simple oil change.

I do whatever I can get away with in my apartment's parking structure.
When I finally get a warning, I'll do it at a friend's house, or behind an abandoned building or something.

I do almost everything my self. The reason is that the car is a hobby and it's whole reason for being is to be played with.
In my mind, if you are just going to pay to have somebody else do it, then you should just take a loan and buy a better car.

Only thing i've EVER payed someone else to do for me onmy car. Is the exhaust(b/c that was custom) that's it....DIY are the letter in the english alphabet that Ef'rs Live by.
Civic and CRXs are so uncomplex and so simple in their mechanics that not working on your own is a shame. Most say, ' I can if I wanted to, but since I have the money, I'll just pay someone else to. ' My reason for working on my own car is if something were to go wrong, I am the only one to blame. - Darrell

w3rd. Im like that, but w/ all Hondas, u name it ive worked on it. Even when I first got my license and 1st started workin on cars I luckily never had to pay someone for work on my car b/c if i didnt know how to do sumthin my homies knew how to
Working on your own cars is the best, you get to fully know and understand them and then you can make $$$ off doing jobs for other peeps

I think MOST "ef-ers" are DIY almost everything. I love ef's and have had several, but who really pays to have stuff done to em (other than some body work and/or welding exhaust)?
I do everything myself because thats why i'm on honda-tech, thats how i developed a passion. I was originally gonna do all my own repairs because i was cheap, then i started to get into it, now i'm cheap cause i wanna spend all my money on the hatch.
for sure! I think me and my buddy did 7 swaps in the last 4 months on ef's. 2 pulls and one drop in one night last Nov. swaps are almost a routine thing now - its pathetic really.
