Default Combination Switch going bad

Hi guys,
On dec 18th I got the combination switch replaced for my car. The symptoms were parking lights went out, my gauge lights were out. So did my indicators I think) Now two days ago I smelt plastic burning (real nasty smell, strong) I couldn't figure out what it was. Anyways next morning the same symptoms appeared.

Can you guys help me figure out what would be causing combination switch to go bad?

What fuse could be responsible for this?
I have a remote start/keyless entry, could that be going bad?

Thanks for looking guys.
Appreciate the help and advice.

The only thing I could think of would be a short or bad wiring...one thing I suck at is wiring .
