Crank pulley, harmonic dampener question
OK I have a d15b vtec motor,
and say I want to use a CRV crank pulley on it.
Will the CRV pulley still serve its function as a harmonic dampener properly?
even though it's on a different engine?
Also, say I had a machine shop remove the extra pulley rings(ac/ps etc)
for weight savings, would this mess with the dampening function at all?
reason for this is it will up the boost on my jrsc.
thanks in advance.

As long as it is two piece with a rubber isolator in between it is a damper and not just a hub.Machining the pulleys off will not change its dampening properties significantly. You should have it balanced after you machine the pulleys off.Any shop that does engine balancing can do the pulley only for around $25.

Yes.It will work fine.If I remember the vx d-series had a solid pulley, but that was designed to run about 2500 rpm.I'm sure the crv is a two piece will the rubber isolator.
