crank pulley interchange; F23-K20
got no response in tech/misc. maybe this fits better here...
i'm working with an F23A1 bottom end. i'd like to find a smaller (narrower) crank pulley since i won't need power steering and space is limited.
i believe F20C pulleys work on the F23 crankshaft, but i'm trying to find out if the K20 pulley would also work since I can find them more easily and for less money.
so, the question is does anyone know if the K20 pulley will work on the F23 crank? Or, could anyone get some measurements from a K20 pulley (if so, see image below for clarity)?
"A" diameter is most important. the others would be helpful.

Re: crank pulley interchange; F23-K20
the k20 crank pulley has the same "A" diameter as a f23. the only differences are that the k20 pulley is a 7 rib pulley so it will be wider as a single row pulley and the backspacing is different so you might not have the same amount of thread engagement as the stock pulley. your best bet is to get a stock f23 pulley and have it turned down to a single row pulley.
hope that helps

the F23 is a 6 rib + a 4 rib for power steering. an unmodified K20 with 7 rib should be what, 1/2 inch narrower without modification?

you can use either pulley, but you will have to make a spacer to use your alt. in its stock location.. or make new brackets to align the alt to the pulley.
i built my brothers f23 and used a f20 pulley. deleted the balance shafts and made a new bracket to line up the belt. and yes, when all said and done. it gives you like an extra inch of clearance.

thanks for the help. i'll go ahead with the K20 pulley. And if i remember to... i'll update this thread with my results.
