Default ECU Error Codes

K, heres my problem. I got a 1988 crx si with a d16z6. I got the car with this motor in it. The car is using the p28 ecu and I cannot find the maintance plug so I can see what codes I'm throwing. So my question is this. The two wires that are on that plug should go back to the ecu right? So I got a wiring diagram and there is 2 pin slots on it called datalink connector. I was wondering if these are the two wires that I need to jump together to get the CEL to blink. Any advice would be highly appreciated.

DONT jump the datalink connector pins- the service check connector just grounds a terminal on the ecu (D4- brown wire)- ground it and you should be flashing codes.
