Default ITB setup questions...

Ive been doing alot of thinking lately about running an ITB setup and after reading how happy people are with their setups, ive decided to do a gsxr setup. After searching and reading i have just a few questions i couldnt seem to find answers for.

1. Will my RC 310cc injectors be big enough to run these? (setup is 1.8l w/ buddy club spec 3's)

2. Whats the average MPG for a setup like this? (actual experience, no hearsay please.)

3. Im going to be purchasing the golden eagle vacuum log to solve the MAP problem, but where would i mount the IACV?

Thanks for any and all help....

dont know enough about questions 2 and 3, but for question 1, you will have to run 440's or bigger

wrong!

- i'm using stock 240cc on my jdm typeR setup and my wide band never goes above 13 at WOT.
- i get around 25 mpg with both city and highway driving. around 20 if i beat on it all the time.
- check the link on my sig to see about iacv issue.

not sure if you punked me or not, but everything I have read on here and rocket says for the best atomization and spary pattern. The smallest I usually see in 440's, so I will research more later. Arent you running lean though?

i'm just telling you from my personal experience with my setup. smaller injectors have better response time then larger injectors at low rpm. use injectors size appropriate for your engine output. 440's will support up to 275whp in force induction setup. i doubt you will need injectors that large on an NA application. why do you think i'm running lean? a/f ratio of 13 is not that bad and i only hit 13 at vtec crossover, it's around 12.5-12.8 at high rpm. i won't know what will be the best a/f ratio for my engine is until i hit the dyno. and i still have plenty of room to add more fuel on the oem injectors. i'm also running walbro fuel pump, cause i was planning on boosting it.

1. 310's would be ideal

2. In most of the setups I've done, we've kept it at around 22 mpg. Sometime's we've gotten as much as 27, but sometimes as low as 18. This is referencing regular daily driving as opposed to driving like a psycho.

3. The MAP problem is never really solved, in fact I've had much more success with tee'd off vacuum lines than with vacuum boxes. Regarding the IACV, I just zip tie it to the firewall, keep coolant running through it, and leave it plugged in.

I've never run bigger than 310's in my ITB setups and have never had fuel issues. In fact the stock 240's have been fine in almost every setup I've done.

I actually prefer to just use the stock fuel injector locations with the stock fuel rail. Of course an injector location farther back would be ideal, but sometimes simplicity is the safest route.

Im going to use the stock injector location but how did you mount the fuel rail to the itb's? DOHCsideracing informed me that he basically made a bracket welded on to the stock fuel rail and then used that to clamp down to the itb's....
