Default Can you swap any other stock cam into a D16 motor to gain a little performance?

As the topic states. Just curious if there is any other cam that would be more of a top end cam thats stock that you can swap in place of the other.

Which D16? There are at least four different configurations.

Well im trying to find out what motor would be best for the 96-98 civic EX. and then see if i could swap a stock for stock and pick up some power.

hope that might help a little.

it will be the D16z6 i believe that comes in the 96-00 civics. comes with 125 stock atleast thats what some tuning book i have says.

D16Y8 is stock in '96-'00 Civics, and there is no stock Honda cam that can be swapped in for more power. You would need to go aftermarket.

Zex 59300, Crower Stage 2...several people on here have an aftermarket cam

Thanks ******... just incase it helps need a High RPM cam and it's N/A.

I thought you were talking about non-vtec engines until you said an ex.Wel, the single cam ZC cam is pretty good and more aggresive than any other non-vtec Dseries cam. There you might pick up some power. Thats next in my 1.5

so a ZC cam would go in a D16y8 motor? i was thinking of the skunk2 stage 1.
