Default Car Will Not Start | Electrical Problem | Details Inside

I just finished swaping a b18a into a 90 dx that I bought with a blown motor. It had allready been converted to mpfi and was running a si motor.

I can start the car by having the key in the run position and touching a hot wire to the terminal on the starter.

The problem is that the car will not crank or anything when the key is turned to the crank position. All I hear is a click under the dash.

I tested all the fuses and they are good. I put a test light to the wire going to the starter and when I turn the key to the crank postion it dosen't light.

The motor is grounded in 3 places, I have the harness grounded on the thermostat, and the battery is in the trunk grounded to the spare tire thing.

Can someone explain to me how to troubleshoot this?

I don't know if this is related but the clock and radio worked before the swap and now they don't.

Sounds like the clutch /neutral safety switch is not set up correctly. Was the car an automatic before? And have you checked the connection and adjustment on the clutch switch?

I don't belive it was ever an auto.

I ran a +12v wire from the fusebox to a $2 button from walmart to the starter selenoid to start my car now.

Super ghetto but I can drive my car around now untill I figure this out.

sounds like your ignition switch is shot, check and see if they have a fuse for the starter signal also
