Default I have a wierd problem with engine sputter?

Ok so heres what has happened at 3-4 thousand rpm when driving the car will sputter like something is clogged or just sputtering with a misfire every once in awhile.. Heres the wierd part i thought i might have a vacuum leak pretty simple to check for with some starting fluid. well i sprayed starting fluid over the intake nothing happend, i started spraying over the throttle bodyand some of the sensors and instead of the engine revving up it idled down and so now im asking why did it idle down and not up and my car has no cel and it is not throwing any codes. when i turn the car to the start position and look at the ecu it blinks once and then doesnt blink again. maybe im checking it wrong but im not sure any help would be appreciated thanks...
