Well my ac belt is toast and I was trying to put on a new one but there is a rod that goes from the block to the frame of the car that has to pass throught the belt, so i was wondering if anyone can tell me how to install the new one. Its on a 93 civic lx d15b7

you need to take off the lower motor mount to put the belt on . you may wanna check your compressor to see it still turns freely . (i've seen frozen compressors tear a belt right off many times )

 

should i support the motor with a floor jack when I take the mount off?

 

Yes you should although that mount is more of supplemental mount to the main motor mount the goes through your timing cover. i know the two mounting bolts are 14 mm heads but i beleive (not sure ) the nut is a 17 mm take that off and you will be able to put the belt on with ease
