Dealer prices for maintenance and timing belt
wow i was talking to my friend from TX (im in cali) and she told me her car (97 LS 4 door) is going to be in the shop for a whole day (not getting it back until tomorrow) and they charged her about $1,000 for the 90K maintenance (similar/same as 30K) and timing belt change..
is this what most dealers charge for these services? I've done all my own repair/maintenance (thanks to the helms manual) so i've never spent anything on maintenance except for cost of parts
the breakdown is about $400 for the 90K maintenance and $550 for the timing belt with tax (8.25%) thats like a thousand.. i told her i could prolly do all that for lke $200 (cost of parts).. but man.. $1,000?
anyway for other ppl that have paid the dealer to do these services is this about right? thats a lot to me since i do my own work on my car.. just pay for the parts..
