Default BCIV's or skunk pro1 for a b20/vtec

Hi, i'm in so much anguish on deciding on these two cams.

Help me out honda-tech.
I recently checked out T-bone's comparison as shown in link

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1135465

my setup is as follows

head:
2000 b16a2 ported in polish by portflow.
(portflow valvetrain) retainers were gold nitrated.
aebs im
65mm tb

block:
2000 b20z2 block (STOCK SLEEVES) bought the block w/ 15k miles
tore it down and put in a GSR crank
w/ gsr girdle
eagle rods
wiseco 12:1 compression pistons

Tranny:
ITR transmission w/ 4.9 ats final drive and ats 1st gear 3.0
stock type r lsd

this car is gonna be daily driven, but it would see the track pretty often as well.

so that's why I'm contemplating, but all said an done....

Can I hit anywhere into the high 11's? Going into a gutted eg and tuned w/ hondata s200

Nice set-up by the way.

In my opinion (and this is just my opinion), if you were to just chose between the two, I'd pick the BC's. I think you'll have enough torque with the 2 L set-up you have, and if your gonna track the car alot, you'll be up in the stratusphere reving.

Both cams look good on the dyno thou.

Once again, just my opinion

Hmm, really its up to you, also i'm sure your results will vary greaty, they always do, i think cams take a lot of trial and error, more than most parts, maybe just start with the cheapest of the two, tune it, try it out for a while, try another set, see how they do, trial and error baby, eventually you will find a set that harmonize best with your setup. Also i think high 11's could be seen after some serious track time, a whole season's worth. the best of luck though.

Buddy Clubs. If you are tracking the car, a streetable (as it so appears) cam like the Skunk2 Pro N1 wouldn't be quite what you want. Maybe wait for them to come out with the stage 3? I like your setup too...nice gear. I don't see why you couldn't hit high 11's as long as you laid down at least 220whp. Good luck!!!

Skunk pro1's were only down 5whp peak from the BC4's. That doesnt translate into a huge difference in accleration. 10-12 ft-lb gain with the pro1's below 6k compared to the BC4's, is still within your shift point with that gearing. I would take 10 ft-lb torque gain over 2,000 rpms over a 5whp loss over 500-800rpms.

Thanks for all of your responses, Boosted Hybrid's comment is true, about the 10lb of torque in the lower rpms.

My block has stock sleeves so it'll be better if the power was in the lower rpm's,

but i was wondering whether the skunk pro's will come out w/ different stages?

Should I wait for Tbone to test them out

my opinion go w/ the bc's.
dude im sorry to say i have a B20vtec and so does na200whp and we both have some pretty nice dyno numbers, we both run mid 12's, so i dont think ull be hitting 11's yet. mabey mid 12's. GET A GOOD *** TUNE. and i wish u the best of luck in your goal of 11's

also what kind of axles are u gonna be running? be careful off the hole.
