Default how do i make a butterfly for throttle body?

i am going to bore out my throttle body and i have all the equipment to do that but my question is what do i need to make the butterfly? like what material and how would i go about cutting the circle?

and when cutting out the butterfly do i make it the exact size of the throttle body or slightly smaller/larger?

the butterfly will have to be slightly oval....or it will just spin around in the throttle body..

My advice is to forget this idea and look for power elsewhere. This will do nothing for you but make your wallet lighter or make your head hurt. I have seen dyno tests that showed a .4hp gain from 10mm larger on the TB... and that could have easily been accounted to an small temp or humidity change during the time the tb was changed, or even simply error.

unless you have a machine to do the butterfly, which will be precise with the exact size that you bore out the thottle body to dont even mess with it, or you ll love driving around with a real fucked up idle

I'll give you a quick hint you need a lathe or a rotary table for a milling machine

make a mandrel a peice of round stock with the angle cut on the end that is the start angle of the butterfly you will also need to locate the screw holes correctly in the mandrel also once you have the angle cut and the screw holes located drilled and tapped into the mandrel rough cut a piece of aluminum .060 or slightly thicker measure the original is best bolt the peice onto the mandrel
chuck the mandrel in the lathe and machine it it will look like its wobbling but the finished part will be a butterfly about .002 under the bore size will work
its allot of work for one unit and a little taxing for a beginner
good luck
