Default RPM GOING NUTS

When at idle my car rev's between 1k & 2k rpm and it seems like it's running hard or something what does this mean. It use to do this on cold starts and once the warmed up it would be ok, but now it does it non stop.

Thanks for the help

check your idle control valve-located on the throttle body, it may need to be cleaned. Also, there is a screw that controls the vacuum for you idle also on the thorttle body, it may have worked itself loose, try tightening it. My ZC engine did the same thing in a CRX. *Please feel free to correct me if i am wrong anyone* hope this helps!

could mean a few things... could be low coolant, idle enhancement valve (i think thats the same as the idle control) Check those and see if it fixes

My car is doing the same thing, I've tried everything where is the idle control valve located or could it be something internal.

Usually the idle-air control valve (IACV) is bolted to the back of the intake manifold. Sometimes there's also a fast-idle-thermo-valve (FITV) bolted under the throttle body. Beginning sometime before '98, the FITV function was built into the IACV.
