B16 Transmission
Hi guys, got a little story to tell ya that just happend to me, I was just coming out of my driveway just know, and when i hit reverse my car kinda jumped a little, the thing is that i got a 4 puck competition clutch with Flywheel and pressure plate, I tought to my self no big deal I took the clutch out kinda fast, so thats why it jumped, I went to the store I came back. I was going back out, and when i was on reverse I saw that i was leaving oil marks all over my driveway, I took a look under the car and all my Oil was coming out of my trans. I jacked up the car and I saw that there was a big chunk of trans missing form my transmission, the size of a quater dollar, maybe a little bigger. I don't under stand what could cause this, maybe my clutch or my clutch and because i din't heat up my car before coming out, or the case of the trans was weak. all the gears of the trans are good, I can still go forward and reverse. I was thinking of changing just the case, but don't know how much would i spend. anyone has any ideas???
Most likely the diferential pin let go and tore up the inside of the trans. I would suggest getting a new trans because most likely it is not just the case that is damaged.
EDIT: I didn't read the part where it says your car still runs
Anyway I think if everything is ok internally and the car still moves I would just get a new case. Otherwise plan on getting a new trans.

damn , that sucks ! keep us posted i'd like to know how the hell that happened!
you didnt bump into something on the way out the first time and thast why ur car jerked!?" because if not , then what ever broke the case came from the insided of the trans , but what the hell would come lose from the inside?, nothing as far as i can think!! unless one of ur bolts from pressure plate came lose and went out through the case .
either way man. good luck!

There is no fluid in the clutch housing of the transmission.

I don't know if there is fluid . Ill have to check , i am taking out the trans today.
I think i did hit something because there is like scratch mark on the trans.
But the only place i could think i could have hit it was coming out from my drive way because it has a little loop. but i looked for the peace that broke and did not find it. its funny beacuse i can still drive the car. I am going to go to home depot today and buy Apoxy and put it where the crack is and i am going to drive it around the block. and see what happends.

Something must have broke inside the tranny and got stuck between the final drive gear and the tranny case. That's were the hole is right? I assume this because this same situation happened to my in my Accord 5spd. I would just get another tranny and not shift so fast...
