*i didn't post this in the other threads, as i didn;t want it to get lost in the shuffle...
i just received the ATS comp lights from the Discount tire ebay auction..... they have 8 holes, unlike the picture they had on ebay.

now, here is my question (and purpose for separate thread):
does anyone else think having the swiss cheese center changes the strength of the wheel? i was never a fan of this type of wheel because it looks like it has a reduced strength. maybe that is why we got them so cheap? (mine were $309 shipped ) or is this me being my obsessive compulsive **** self and over analyzing everything? if it is, i'll just STFU.... but i just wanted to get another opinion.
*side note though: these wheels come with the nicest hub centric rings i have ever seen. even though they are pink, they snap into the wheel, not just site the, really nice for quick tire changes.

i just weighed them on my load cell scale. supposed to be 13.5, mine are 13.2 with centercap, 13.0 without. not too shabby, especially for the price. thanks for easing my mind ghetto...

You got hubcentric rings????!!!!!!!!!!!! Mine didn't come with hubcentric rings! Maybe thats why mine were $285 shipped.
About the 8 holes. I would prefer the 4 holes myself especially since that's what the picture online shows me I'm getting. But for the price, whatever.

Just kidding. Did you call them to buy the wheels or purchase them on ebay. I need to see if I can get a set of those hub rings.

hub centric rings are cool, and i used to be **** about installing them. but after all the track days, i find them really uncessary sometimes i don't put them on if i'm in a rush because one set of my kosei has plastic ones and they aren't exactly perfect fit, they are just a hair loose against the wheel so i doubt they really do much. of course they are nicer to have in theory... especially metal rings. my old school Z.SPEED RNR replica's had aluminum hub centric rings that were pretty much interference fit. now that worked!

Until you pull the wheel off and they stay stuck to the hub and you have to get a screwdriver to pry them off... Slows you down a bit.

see, that is exactly it... the rings that came with the ATS wheels clip into the wheel, keeping them on the wheel, and not on the hub. they do not just sit in the wheel like the kosei's. that is why i said they are nice

Try them. They don't stay stuck to the wheel.
