Default Flat black confusing cop radars?

Well i was thinking of painting my eg flat black, and i happened to stumble on to the myth that since cop radar thingies are designed to bounce the signal off of more vibrant/shiny colors of a car to detect how fast one is moving, a police officer would have a much harder time detecting the velocity at which i am traveling. I think i will probably paint my car flat black regardless to whether it helps with the radar part (not really planning on going that fast eh) or not i was just wondering if there was any truth to it. thanx guys.

Well since they bounce it off your license plate your flat black won't do anything to it.

they bounce it off your rear plate. front plates are more for redlight cameras.

You either got this idea from the B-2 or the F-117. The answer would be no aside from the rear plate. The whole idea of stealth goes beyond the absorbant "flat black" paint you see used in the many bombers and fighters. They use alot of materials other then metals for the frame, design elements to cool the exhaust fumes, and more.

So yeah theres alot more to it then simple flat black paint. In terms of aerospace and the military stealth technology over the years has become a thing of the past due to advances in radar technology.

If you really wanted to try it they do sell Radar Absorbing Paint but again it's expensive and can't be sprayed with normal tools, and again many other factors are involved in stealth technology.

Hahahaha

BTW, a dirty or shiny car doesn't do anything to radar. It also doesn't have anything to do with your liscense plates.

Radar doesn't need a reflective surface to bounce off.

I saw an episode of MythBusters that tried all this.

Flat black car, reflective tin foil car, etc..

nothing worked, radar still picked it up
