Default how man psi will stock sleeves do?

i have a fully built d16z6 block with 8.8 compression wiseco pistons, scat rods, clevite bearings and a built head also. i just bought darton sleeves for my block, but am still debating whether or not to put them in because im running low on budget and installing them cost fairly expensive. i will be running a turbonetics t3/t4 turbo kit with it. i was wondering how many psi will stocks sleeves hold? im plannin probably to run it 14 psi every once in a while and sometime spike it up to 18.

if tuned properly 14psi will be fine. your engine isn't gonna be under boost it's whole life unless you drag race only. daily driving you will be cruising with vacum most of the time so there really isn't any extra stress on it untill you want the power and giver her the gas.

i dont know if this is true, but alot of people with experience in turbo modifications have told me the most any honda could possibly handle would be about 10 pounds. add a block gaurd and you might be able to pull of 12-13 psi.

I would say.. 18 psi is where the Edge comes.. thats about the most..on stockers..

I would say 18 psi or 350 WHP ... what ever you hit first

its not only PSI .. its over all HP too...

About 25 passes down the 1/4 and probably 16 down the eighth. That makes, like 10miles total, and probably a total of 2-4 hours on the dyno total. Wasnt ever on the street though. Has aftermarket rods n pistons.

Ide personally sleeve, after 18psi, 20 is pushing it. All the engiens I have built are using sleeves, pushing over 30lbs and no problems. Ive never broken a stock sleeve before so I couldnt personally say what they take.

man i dont know how you guys daily drive but its bad enough my car is slow and i still never let off the gas! i am scared to boost it becuase of highway driving... two and half hours of full boost i dont know how that would go even with low, 6 psi.

ot questiong. what do you mean by stock sleeves? a block doesnt actually have a sleeve, it is all one peice right? and when you sleeve a block you bore it out and drop a pistiong sleeve into it right?

the only time i have seen sleeves is with my rc cars!

thanks.

when you are cruisin like the dude said above, you will be in vac,not boost.so when you are driving on the freeway,as long as you dont have the gas floored the whole time, you will not be boosting

thanks.</TD></TR></TABLE>

whats up pennhatch. to answer your question about sleeving the honda block. some honda motors such as the b series have what you call floating cylinder walls so that coolant can pass through the block thus colling the motor. im not sure about a d series. and also i think for a daily driver you should stick with about 10psi on a stock d block. if your like me dependability is a big issue. peace out.

Wrong, It's not CFM, its HP. A motor can only be rated at how much HP it can handle. If you take a t25 turbo on a stock b16, and run 15psi, you would probably get the same amount of HP with 7psi on a SC61.

Bigger turbos create more HP at lower boost, so measuring how much a motor can hold by boost is pointless

PSI has ZERO relation to sleeve failure!

You are correct in saying that psi is useless and hp is what you look for.. But saying the CFM will tell you how much HP you will put out at what PSI.. They all go hand in hand but just psi by itself is useless..

we are building a drag d16 series, stock sleeves upgrading rods and pistons and headwork. what kind of numbers can we get out of 15psi with uber tuning. goal is atleast 300, 350 is the ultimate goal. prollly gonna runa t3t4 from a maxrev kit on a b series.
