Default Tow hooks, how did you mount them?

Anyone have benen or a no name brand tow hooks? How did you mount the rears? I had an idea of just cutting off the stock one and drilling out the holes where the OEM one is. Pics or ideas would help.

Yes the car is tracked, no i dont care what you think.

For the front, u just take off the bumper and drill the holes on the metal bumper support that match up with the tow hook. It ends up lookin like this:

as for the rear, it just bolts up to the stock tow hook.

they do serve a purpose if you race and don't want to waste race gas driving around the track.

Believe it or not, i got both tow hooks for free. I got the benen one from a friend of a friend, and i got the rear tow hook (i also have the front too) from my friend too.

Easier for your car to get towed, I guess.

Thanks nine5 that makes more sense. For anyone that is looking for a cheap set to get beat up on race day go here:

http://www.arospeed.com/default.php?cPath=24_72_81
Buy them there, and there are pics of the smaller ones like nine5's read on jcwhitney.com

the benen rear tow hooks come with a little cut of aluminum, and you make your stock tow hook the middle layer of the sandwich, with some bolts.
tow hooks are also good when you run into sand pit on track, get towed out easy.

honestly man, if the thieves are going to tow your ride, the ****** tow hook isn't going to make that much of a difference...think about it now......the rear one simply goes over the oem one, they can easily hook up the the oem one if they want. and the front one is the same way.

now if your running some traction bar setups, that DONT have an option for a tow hook, the front might be needed, i would hate to see what the redneck tow trruck driver would do if he was left up to his own imagination having to pull your car out from the front
