My indicator lights up and I get it refilled, and can only fill up 11.2 gallons. The specs say that the gas tank holds 13.2 gallons. This means I can drive 50 more miles when the indicator lights up. I find this annoying, but I wanted to know if this is correct. Can anyone back this up or dispute it?

 

My EP3's gas light comes on with about two gallons left as well

 

when it turns on it fluctuates because of the switch in the fuel tank and all the fuel moving around in the tank when driving

 

it also is a safety factor. your empty light shows when you still have 2 gallons left so you can limp to a gas station.

how would you like it if the instant the light turned on, your car stalls and shuts off because it's out of gas.

 

My 02 does this as well. It's a good thing, trust me.

If your tank holds 13.2 gallons and your low gas light comes on do you really expect to be completely empty to fill back 13.2 gallons? If it works that way then as soon as your gas light comes then you're pushing your car home.

2 gallons there is for your reserve, thats why its called the "LOW gas light" and not the "NO gas light"

 

My girl has a 04 Solara, which has a mileage indicator, and her gas reserve light comes on with about a gallon left and 27 miles left. I was just wanted to know if the rsx light came on with more gas left or my car's fucked up. I personally think 1 gallon is enough for the light to come on, but i guess 2 gallons is a good thing. Thnx.

 

you shouldnt even be letting ur gas get that low
