Default AIT Sensor tricks

I have read that people have installed a resistor in the harness clip for the AIT sensor to fool the computer into thinking its getting colder air thus adding more fuel making it richer, is this crap true or just a bunch of crap, if it true what type of resistor would you use

it would fool the computer's reading, in the end the computer will squeeze out more fuel

one of my friends moved his from the heatsoaked intake manifold over to the air intake pipe... the "butt dyno" claimed that it felt better, but a real dyno or a 1/4 mile run haven't been done in that car, before or after... at least it's not the resistor "trick"...
