Default Installing aftermarket speakers?

i'm trying to install new 6.5" alpine type-s speakers in the the front of my honda civic si.

the part where i'm stuck is i took out the stock speakers but want to put the new alpine type-s speakers but they dont' have a connector. do i just rip the ones off me stock ones and solder them onto the new alpines or what? Is there any other alternatives? any websites or tips would be helpful.

Go to any car audio shop. They should have a wide variety for different cars.

well those are stock connectors, connected to small wires.... Im guessing your all stock except these speakers you want to put in right? Well, all I did was take that connector off, and then get some clamping connectors.. and put them on the wire I took that plastic block connector off of.

Dont be surprised if the new speakers sound worse than the stock ones, if you dont have an aftermarket headunit. it has to do with quality of signal, and power, but mainly power..

This may be more than you asked or wanted to know...
General order of upgrades...
Headunit. Speakers, Amp, sub if wanted...
or perhaps in some cases, when you dont, a super high end volume or the speakers are good already...
Headunit, lowerpowered amp, then whatever...

well yea my car is all stock but i already installed a alpine cda-9825 headunit so i'm pretty sure the sound will be better. i don't want to install an amp and subs because that is too much wiring and work for me and i can't afford it right now. all i want to do is replace the 6.5's in the front and 6x9's in the rear of my civic.

so basically all i have to do i rip the connector off of my stock speakers and solder them onto the alpine type-s speakers, then plug and play right?

well, I for one, didnt have long enough connections... for soldering, I just got those common connectors, where you have male and then Female when the femail is like a rectangle that slides over the thin flat male connection... they are the "norm" and look like they would slide over and onto the speaker connections, I use those Soldering is overkill, spend $1 and get several of these connectors and you are set.

Yeah do that. I only said about getting adapters because I don't like to cut the stock wiring.

Crutchfield sells adapators, I believe, if you don't want to cut up stock wiring.

I personally am cheap, and cut them.

And also, installdr.com gives you wiring color info so you know which is positive, which is negative.
