Question on stereo installation - 1998 LX Sedan
I recently installed a new stereo/cd player in our 1998 LX, but there are some problems that I can't seem to figure out.
I bought a wiring harness to make the job easier. The stereo works fine, but there is an orange wire and an orange/white wire (docs tell me these are for dimmer and illumination) that didn't have a place to go on the new stereo, so I taped up the ends with electrical tape and they're hanging loose.
After the installation, the dash lights don't work - nor do the lights in the climate control or the lights in the PRNDL indicators near the center console shifter (I'm guessing everything controlled by the dimmer is affected)
So, my question is, do the orange wires need to go somewhere? And if so, where? If not, did I screw something up in the installation to blow out all of these bulbs? I've checked the fuses, they look good, and I even tried replacement fuses to no avail.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
