Im new to the board and this may sound like a random question but: I have a 97 4dr LX 5spd and i was wondering if the EX exhaust is more freely flowing and if it would fit the LX. I can get my hands on one for free, is this worth my time. OR is there an aftermarket exhaust that is quiet and looks stock but adds a little power? thanks!

 

The only thing that will make a difference from the EX exaust is the mani (manifold/header). Other than that, as far as I know, the exausts are the same. As far as a quiet aftermarket exaust, I have heard that Magnaflow is relatively quiet. I on the otherhand, am rockin' the Flowmaster, definatly not quiet. haha. Just do a search for "quiet exausts" or "quiet aftermarket exausts". There should be a TON of results. Good luck.

 

most popular is the rsr exmag exhaust. another way is to the es oval muffler and get a muffler shop ot make 2 1/4 piping to go with it

Just put it on less than a month ago and I love it!

 

I have a comptech muffler and it is pretty quiet. My short ram can be heard over the muffler. Search on ebay under "comptech" they should be around $50 a piece directly from comptechusa.
