With clutch replacement, is flywheel replacement necessary/advised
OK, so I'm going to put in an Exedy stage 1 clutch and was looking at getting a flywheel....
its just that they are a lot of cash
can I just resurface a flywheel with 200,000 kms on it? Is that a terrible idea?
I thought about getting a less expensive type-r flywheel but those I have talked to said I'd hardly notice a difference

Just resurface unless something it visibly askew. The flywheel is not a real "wear item"
Used light flywheels are pretty cheap, and most aftermarket ones use a replacable friction surface, too.
You can also safely take about 3-4 lbs off the stock b-series flywheel for around 50 bucks at a machine shop.

everything seems cheap, until you try to ship it to Canada, then UPS or FedEx rape you with an extra $100 for bringing it across the border
I wanted to not spend much cash on my car this summer, but so far I have a new head, new cams on the way, I need to buy new valve springs and retainers, new cam gears, I just bought a CF lip.... its getting expensive
