Default Project b18c1 88 HF, started 1-29-05 :-) New paintjob pics

Hi everyone. First let me introduce myself, my name is john and im currently putting my 99 GSR project on extended hold so that I can build up my 88 CRX HF i just bought on saturday. So far the prioritys have been to just strip the car of everything so that I can do a complete color change, and pretty much start from scratch when it comes time to put it all back together. Only problem I have run into so far is getting the dash off, but I have an helms ebay cd-rom and the 60$ helms shop manual on the way so nothing should stand in my way with both those.
Keep checking back to this thread as I will update it when any significant work has been completed. I think i already like my 88 hf more than the GSR, which is pretty sad considering what ive done to the gsr but i just see so much potential in this EF that i really couldnt imagin with the heavy gsr.
Anyway, heres 2 days of work in an unheated garage and no helms manual, not bad i guess

Thanks guys, this was a Florida car until just last year when a fellow honda-tech member bought it. It had a paint job sometime I can tell, but theres litterally only like a couple hours of rust removal im going to have to do on this. How do you all find the patients to do a project like this ?? im probably looking at 2 years or so till this is done and it just seems like its gonna take forever!!

i know you'll figure this out when you get the helms, but for the dash, take the steering wheel off (bolt under center h cover) then theres 4 places its mounted at, bottom center, top center, left and right. the right is behind the glove box, and the left is in the mirror place. i hope im not forgetting anything, been like 10 minths since i've taken one of those dashes out
good luck.

Update: Ive got just aobut everything I need for the swap except the axles, wiring, and the swpa itself. My bank denied my loan application for 4K. After a few hours I was finially able to convince my mom to co-sign. I got a loan for 11k a few years back for my GSR and I paid it off almost a year early so thi should be no problem. lots more updates to come as things are finially starting to come together!

Now the fun begins, putting it back together with bigger and better parts. Good luck!

The CRX rear looks like hieroglyphics w/o the bumper & taillights.....or maybe a subtle message written in Japanese??

You finish this. I will drive out to see it. I love the HF. and you are putting the best of the B series in, IMO, the best of the Best Ef.

Interior painted with Krylon Fusion gloss black. This stuff rocks by the way, looks like stock interior that has just been hit with black magic interior spray. The can says its completely scratch resistant within 7 days. These pics really dont do it justice, they arent as grainy looking in person. Dash is getting some work done, the vents have been removed and are getting covered with fiberglass, center vent is getting covered with fiberglass and 2 holes drilled for oil pres. and boost.

WOOOOHOOOO, i just got back from picking up my JDM b18c w/ s80 lsd tranny!. I cant wait to get this thing in! Its going to be atleast a few weeks because my car is getting painted flamenco black pearl next week and ive still got to send in my gsr harness to ryan for the conversion. Anyway, I will be driving this in less than 2 months (if all goes as planned). pics of the SUPER CLEAN engine tonight when I get home.

PS, hmotor's engines are clean as hell, lets wait and see how good it runs though.

god i wish i could do that, Tear mine down completely and weld i new panels and ****, i just know:

A. I'd lose 3249009843209 bolts
B. I don't have a garage
C. I'd prolly give up :/

who knows though, I really like this car more than i had imagined. I had bought it as a beater, but since then I installed an 88 si passenger side door and converted to c-pillar mounted belts (Still have to do the driver side) I converted it to a 5spd and dropped in a b18a, I have front LS suspension, and rear will go in this week. I think I may just do something like that. Keep on with the pics, im subscribing!
