How do I keep my Integra from becoming a statistic?
Ok, so I just bought a clean 96 GSR sedan a few weeks ago and my bro's 00 Si gets stolen last week from right in front of my other brother's house. The Si had a pager alarm hooked up to his stock horn with all switches and buttons hidden. My 98 GSR sedan was stolen from me back in 2001 and it had an alarm also. What can I do to keep this GSR from becoming a statistic? What do you guys have? I was thinking for something as simple and as cheap as a hidden on/off switch to the fuel pump, they can get in but they won't be able to get it nowhere except by pushing or towing it unless they can find the switch. What do you guys think?

Here is another way for keeping theives from getting into your car. This relocates the hood release cable out of harms way.

I think #1 way is to not live in san diego. But you got that covered already. Park it in a garage would be the best bet. And obviously stay away from places that have had problems with that happening.
It's pretty well known that if someone wants your car bad enough they will get it. I say hide a GPS in it that way if it does happen you can track where it is. IE chop shop, someones garage or abandoned in the hills somewhere. But if thats too much there are a lot of little theft detourant things you can do. There have been many topics on this, and what people have done.

basicly the only 2 options we have owning integras are:
1) trade it in for a ford escort
2) move out into a country where all they drive are ford escorts
j/k my track civic sits in my garage with the snow UN-plowed. if someone really wants my civic, they're gonna have to plow the snow for me, put my wheels back on, take it off the jack stand, find my quick release wheel which i aint telling NOONE where i hide it, hook up my spark plugs and drive off. i do have few other security measures in between but thats my hush hush. u just need to adapt to the environment. i, who live in rural minnesota, cant tell u how to keep ur car from getting stolen because u deal with very knowledgeble crooks, i KNOW people here in Brainerd MN aint gonna take the time to do what i just mentioned above for my HONDA when all these people care about are trucks.

Two words bro. LOW JACK. 600 bucks and your car is linked via satellite to the cops for life. Even the best alarm is futile against a fake repo man with a towing truck, Miami style.
out my way every con mans got a flat bed and the peps out here dont play ur car will b taken apart in 2 hrs. b4 u no its gone. under lock and key is the safest way. thats where mine is.

Personaly, I would at the very least take off the "DOHC v-tec" badge on the back, thats what i did to my gsr, that and I got ls mesh rims, I don't wash the car too ofter so as to give it that "beater look" lol. Basicly, most people think my teg is an ls.

i heard but obviously i heard it from someone else so who knows how true this is. but a company makes high pitch sirens for the inside of your car. once broken into its so loud that it blows out ear drums. fact or fiction i dont know. but supposedly the longest anyone has lasted is 7 sec. i dont know maybe just something to check into.

That maybe an ok idea, but i doubt it take too long to deactivate it though, but nevertheless another layer. Boy it would suck to accidently set off your own alarm with yourself in it.

im planning on doing the fuel shut off & relocating my hood release cable. those are some very good ways to prevent forest fires, oppz i meant theft
those sirens i hear are really loud! so loud that it is true they do blow out ear drums. the way that they install it is that they put a hidden battery just for the siren so that even if a crew tries to jack yo ride they have to spend time looking for that alternate power source. the crazy dude that works at bes buy was telling me that those sirens get put in your bay, under your dash, in your trunk, your glovebox, anywhere you want em.
the downside tho is that after your done makin your car sound like a fire truck you'll be short about a G, but thats the price you pay for safety
