Default A $34 hydraulic press... should I do this?

I've got Mugen Rear Control Arm bushings, and front inner and outer control arm bushings (OEM honda rubber) to replace soon, and I'm looking around for places and ways to get the job done.

I can quickly take all the components off my car, but the bushing press part has me worried. I was looking around online and I found this:

Its a 4-ton hydraulic press at Harbor Freight for $34

Would this be enough to tackle the job at home?

I don't have personal experience with this particular unit but I don't see why you could not get it done with this. I hammered mine out with an impact socket and installed my bushings with a regular hydraulic car jack and the bell housing on my transmission so this should definitely work.

I'd bet that this won't get the control arm bushings out.

I have a cheap Harbor Freight 12 ton press that I used to do this. The frame is bolted together. On some bushings, the frame would tweak so badly before the bushing broke free that the thing would rock because the floor beams were no longer parallel.

My next press will be a big 20 ton welded together press from Northern Tool. Still cheap, but should work better than a bolted together unit.

Based on some good advice, I've decided to find a shop to do it. Thanks for the replies everyone!

thats actually not even the press. its just the pump if you look at the harbor freight site, its just that hydralic pump and the hose for 34 bucks, not the press at all

I believe my press is also a HF 12-ton. I did one car and half of another before the jack crapped out and I had to replace it. I really had to lean on the handle quite a few times doing the lcas. It really is a miserable job. If you have a shop that will do it for you, then by all means, jump on it.

Just get the 20 ton from HF and be done.
