Default CRX swap d15b 3500 RPM rev limiter

I did a 92-95 sohc vtec swap jdm d15b into a 90 CRX dx. I am getting a code 4 and i can't get it to turn off. Code 4 is for the crank sensor. I have these wires ran from the distributor to b10 and b12 at the ecu. I am using a 91 si ecu. I have done many swaps and never had this problem. It is setting a rev limiter at 3500 rpm. Don't care about the engine code just the rev limiter. Anyone have any ideas?

Code 4 means you usually need a new distributor. If there is a code 4, the engine automatically goes into limp mode because the ecu tells it to (3500 rpm rev limiter). Do this:
1. Get a new distributor.
2. If that doesn't work, check the continuity beween the end of the wires (B10 and B12) at the ecu and the end of the wires at the distributor.
3. If there is continuity, you will need to put in new spark plug wires.
4. If the problem persists, solder in new connections at the ecu and check the connections between the female and male disrtibutor plugs.
5. If 1-4 do not work, you need a new ecu.
6. if all that doesn't work, you are fucked.

i beleive those go to c1 and c 2

-Connect the C1 wire to the blue/green wire on the CPS (the sensor is inside the Distributor on a SOHC engine). For doing this I suggest swapping out to the proper Si distributor plug so it is all plug and play and looks clean.
-Connect the C2 wire to the blue/yellow wire on the CPS.

If i disconnect the wires i got from c1 and c2 they will give me a code 9 which is cylinder sensor i think. I had to run these wires to get rid of code 9. My code 4 is from a orange and white wires that come out of the distributor which those two go to b10 and b12. I have replaced the distributor. I have a 91 si ecu and a b16a ecu from jdm crx 88-91. I get same code with both ecu's. I have checked continuity on both wires and is good. I also have multiple distributors. The only think i haven't done is checked the plug wires and i do know that one does arc onto the valver cover. The only code i got now is code 4.

Are you using an OBD1 distributor? If so that could be why your car wont rev past 3500. You have to use the OBD0 dizzy from the A6 and modify( the mounting points ) for it to work.

So if i get the 91 si distributor it should fix my problem you think?? I am out of ideas and i didn't want to charge the customer for a distributor unless i had to. It is about the only thing it could be so that is what i am going to try. Thanks.

I would rather not unless i absolutely have to. I can always return the distributor if i need to.

hahahaha yeah first buy a new Dizzy and THEN diagnose the problem. You sound like you work at a dealership buddy.
