Not to mention that R compound tires choices in the 16" tire sizes is less than the 15" size.

Unless you have brakes that need a larger wheel there is absolutely no reason to go to a 16" wheel in my opinion. The 15x7 will get you all the grip you need and will be loads lighter (which is a big deal).

I couldn't have posted it any better myself. If the 15x7's will fit, use them, because they will usually be lighter (faster) and cheaper.

.... unless...you want to get 16x7 because then when you fly by someone you can brag about rolling them in heavy *** wheels.

A 205 tire, especially the Falken Azenis due to its width, will feel (and perform) much better on a 7" wheel. It is about the angle of the sidewall on the wheel when installed.
15x7 is better than 16x7 for a Type R. Why?
1) Lower cost for same quality
2) Lower overall weight
3) Lower rotational inertia
4) Easier fit
5) For a given tire width and aspect ratio a 15" will result in a lower ride height than a 16"

alan

Most people refer to the 205/50/15 Azenis not fitting properly on the stock 6" wide wheels. And they are correct, since the above tires run wider than average 205/50 marketed tires.
They do fit however. They just don't provide the same crisp turn-in that stock sized Re010's offer on stock wheels.
A better option for the Azenis would be 6 1/2" wide wheels or better yet 7".
But there are other 205/50/15 tires that fit the stock wheels closer/better.

Depends on the tire. 7" is a good size for the Azenis, as posted.
