Where to get Front Wheel bearing
Sup guys... My car failed inspection today because my front passenger wheel bearing isn't gonna cut it.
I need a new one.
My shop wants me to pay 110.95 for the bearing, and 102.40 for labor... Then 49.99 for an alignment after that. Should I just go with this? Or should I bother getting a new bearing from somewhere else... I've heard people spending 45 bucks to 65 bucks on a new front wheel bearing... I sure wouldn't mind saving 50 bucks or so... Do you think I should look into getting one elsewhere?
Where should I look? I called my local honda dealer and the guy is a ******* retard.

yeah, labor is gonna kill your for wheel bearings...
i had to replace my front wheel bearings too.. i got mines done at honda though so it cost me roughly $500 for both front...
now i'm in the market for a camber kit because i don't want them to go again.

A front wheel bearing is $50.78 from Sunnyside Acura. http://www.acuraparts247.com/s...ch=no
That's for a genuine Acura bearing too. $100 is not bad at all for the labor. It can take more than a few hours to change, I guess it really depends on experience.
I'm surprised the inspection station picked up the wheel bearing being bad before you did. Usually the only visible clue that your wheel bearing is going is that you can "shake" the wheel and it is loose when you have it jacked up. Before that you can definately feel the vibration in the steering wheel and the bearing made a high pitched squeel in every car I've been in that had the bearing go. Are you sure that you don't need a tie rod or ball joint?
I don't know why they would want to do an alignment though. You do not have to touch any of the adjustments on the tie rods in order to pull the hub. Unless it is already off, changing the bearing will not effect the alignment.
