Default Valve adjustment after removing head??

Im about to take the head off my JDM GSR (1995) and its says in the Helms manual to adjust the valves after everything is back in... do i REALLY have to do that??? Its such a pain to adjust all the valves... please tell me i dont have to do that...

If you take the cam saddles off then you must adjust the valves. Be sure to turn the crank over a few times after reassembly to "seat" the cam and then do the adjustment. If you don't remove the saddles/cams then you don't have to adjust the valves.

how can you remove the head without removing the cams?

depends on which head you are talking about- most sohc you can leave it in- most dohc you can't (if not all)
