Whats the symotoms of an bad ignition switch?

What you say could be the switch or it could be a disconnected wire from the switch to the starter. But flaky switches are pretty common.
what are you guys calling a ignition switch, the whole ignitino, or just the plastic switch at the end opposite of the key slot, thats the igntion switch, correct?

the ignition switch consist of two parts, the mechanical and the electrical

is it shown in this picture here? Or can someone tell me where it would be?(http://www.acuraautomotiveparts.net) I am having the same problem. There is no Signal going to the starter when i turn on the iginition.
We've been talking about #23, but remember it could also be wiring from there to the starter.
