Default d16y8/d15b problem

the setup:
d16y8 block
d16y8 intake manifold
d15b 3-stage vtec head
obd2 p2p dizzy
obd2 p2p ecu

the delemna:

I got the head off of a friend for a really good price, well its missing the top part of the vtec solenoid...and the y8 head will not bolt onto it...will any 92-95 vtec solenoid top fit onto it?

also, since i'm still running the p2p ecu, we have decided to keep my y8 dizzy internals and swap them into a z6...if done properly, should i expect any problems out of it?

also, with the p2p ecu, will i still get the 3stage vtec, i've had people telling me that the ecu won't be able to control it...

any help would be greatly appreciated

you can use Z6 dizzy and repin it. Internals are functionally identical.
D15B head is same casting as D16Z6. Z6 vtec solenoids will work.

any 92-95 solenoid should be the same, your dizzy should be fine but doesnt the y8 dizzy bolt up with minor modification? i dont think your 3stage is going to work.

we thought the dizzy would bolt up with a dremel taken to it, but its still too far away, and if three stage doesn't work, will vtec work at all???

another dumb question now, if i do convert to obd1, can i run a p28 and get the 3stage back, or will i have to get the jdm d15b ecu

also, all i would need is the ecu, harness jumber, and z6 dizzy, correct?

thank you

i might be mistaken but I think the jdm d15b ecu is the only one that will work with 3 stage vtec.

you just need the ecu with adapter and the z6 for obd1.

so which motor do you have exactly? do you have any pics? how many vtec solenoids to you have?
