This is a club racing school. Entry is usually in the $400 ballpark. You need a fully prepared and logbooked race car and all the driver safety gear. It is not an autocross school and it is not a lapping day for street cars.
If you want to do an autocross school in the DC metro area, check wdr-scca.org, follow the links to the solo/autocross program and look for information about the schools the Brian Garfield offers in Frederick, MD.

400? Wow! I could have sworn that the SEDiv doubles were under $300.

It's been a while since I did my SCCA schools. I could have sworn they were $375 or so. Either way, the entire weekend costs quite a bit more than the entry fee by the time you add in consumables, hotel, food, crew fees, etc.

Nah, just thought it was like 265.00 here ... and if so, and remembering all the negativity about the SCCA (WDCR??) entry fees ... but maybe I am remembering the Roebling and Kershaw school prices wrong myself.

FYI, if anyone's trying to find that link, it's wdcr-scca.org.
Thanks, I didn't know about this either. Thought my only quality option was Evo school @ >$300.

I'm not sure if Brian is adjusting the prices this year or not. If they stay at the '04 price, it's a bargain. I plan to attend a Level 2 this season - but he hasn't posted the '05 schedule yet.

Anyone here going?

It is the weekend of March 19th/20th. I would guess there is the normal classroom session on the Friday before.
I'll be there.

i think our double school's + regional is $300. there is one around the same time in march at St. Louis for anyone in the region who might be interested. i know of some other H-T people that will be there.

yep.. I expect to be one of them..

WDCR's Spring school ran $375. Though not a double school, it's still a great deal IMHO considering the amount of track time and instruction over one weekend.
St. Louis bumped the price "a bit" on their double school/regional. (I believe, anyway....I certainly don't remember it being that expensive a couple years ago....)
$595 for two schools and a regional race. http://www.stlscca.org/Default.aspx?tabid=31 for more details.
They must have figured neighboring regions get that much for their double school/national, so why not jump on the wagon?

Yeah I did, but
I have a slight problem with just jumping into a Regional race not knowing most of the competitors I'll be out there with. Not as much for my sake as for theirs. After the school at Roebling, I realized, that I probably won't be racing against most of these folks, since most of them would be racing in the Southeast. I'd like to become familiar with the racers/instructors, the organizing folks and also hopefully get to know some other newbie racers. Roebling was a cool bonding experience, and I'm sure this school will be pretty much the same.
Another reason I haven't done much of anything on a track since last February, and it will be a nice refresher course.
Another, less "corny" reason is I'm going to apply for a scholarship that my region offers. Most of the time this scholarship goes unclaimed.

I'm not sure if this is directed my way, but if so...
... an '89 Yellow CRX. Right now there's a "92" on the side... may or may not change before the school.
And yeah, definitely the 19th and 20th.
Sorry for the delay in checking back...

Good luck, Dave.
I just went through the Cal Club double school a couple of weeks ago, and had and absolute blast. Unfortunately, with the National race going on at the big track that weekend, we didn't get to participate in a regional on Sunday.
Have fun, and watch out for those crazy RX7 drivers. They were all over the place at my school.

Thanks Darren and congrats on getting through the school! I'm very much looking forward to this. I think the last time I was on a track (or a parking lot for that matter) was November.
