Swap gone WAAAYYYY wrong..!! Need help very quick
Hey every one, Just like the topic says I've have run into some problems with my swap that I did over the weekend. It all started when I bought a totaled 91 crx with a JDM b16a. 2 days ago I pulled the motor out of the crx and then I pulled my d15 out of my 91 hatch. The plan was to just simply swap the motor and get it all wired up from dual port to multi port easy huh? Well there is a honda spectialy shop in my area and they wanted $150 to do the wiring. Well for one thing that was to much and I don't even have that much money right now. So I get the motor and axles in fine everything is bolted up and wheels are back on. Then I pull the wiring harness out of the 91 CRX(HF)and swaped it with the harness in my 91 hatch(STD) The harness plugged into every plug on the motor fine and I had to do some modification for the head lights plugs to fit. Then when I went to put the dash back in and plug in all the dash stuff, then I ran into problems. I ended up having to cut and splice a few plugs from the STD harness to the HF harness. When I went to start the motor it started up fine and when I went to turn it off I pulled the key out and the motor was still running, so I just unpluged the fuel pump and it died. Also my brakes seem to be stuck on.. I can't move the car at all because it seems that the brakes are locked up. Im guessing that it has something to do with the wiring to the brake booster. Ok I know that I should have just paid the guy to do modify my STD harness but I wanted to do it my slef so now Im stuck with no car. Does any one here have any advice for me? Should I go to the junk yard and get a new DX or STD harness and get the shop to modify it ?? And Im thinking that the shop won't even touch the car being in the condition that it's in? Any advice would be amazing! Thanks so much.

it sounds like you have one hell of a mess. i would reconnect everything how it was before and pay them $150 to add the wires to your std.
ive never done a dual to multi point conversion but from what ive read your should have used the std harness and just add some wires.
yea i agree with you, I was thinking about just pulling the HF harness out and just putting my STD harness back in and paying that guy to do it but I had to cut and take some plugs off the STD harness so... it's not complete so Im thinking that I will get a new (out of a junkyard) STD harness ...and get that one modified
damn man thats really lowsy.i would just solder all the plugs you cut off with your stock harness and get some heat shrink tubes to seal them,it will be as good as new.just find a write up on how to do it and you should be set.from what i hear its realy simple.deff a lot less effort than what you went through the first time.it is just a few extra wires.good luck and let uss know the outcome.

Yeah i've been searching for a while now on how to do this conversion, still not much luck. I will try and get it fixed this weekend between work and school. Thanks for the help so far, any more would be appreciated

i just did a dpfi to mpfi, its workin fine. you need to use your stock wiring harness and add to it. try this site. and just go step by step dont try to take short cuts and label eveything.

If your existing setup starts and runs fine, there's possibly something wrong with the ignition switch in the steering column that's not shutting off the engine when you take the key out.
Did you ever drive the car CRX before taking it apart?
