car started after it hydrolocked...
right before new years i hydrolocked my motor. i pulled the plugs and cranked the ignition and shot out all the water i could. i got new plugs and charged the battery. the car started and ive been driving it for a week. everything seems fine it just doesn't feel as powerful as before and has an awkward sound at low rpms. could anything be wrong or is it all in my head?

you could have a bunch of different problems, more than likley you have bent a valve slightly causing your reduced power and noise at low rpm, I'm assuming its a clacking sound... I think you could have also damaged the fuel injectors since they were wet (unlikey though) prob need a valve job and if they hit the piston then you might need a piston or two.
good luck.
btw, post pics once you take the head off.

it didnt hydrolock, i would say it was close to getting there tho. open ur distributor cap make sure everything in there is dry also. i ran into a puddle and literally it look'd like a wave came ontop of the car. while driving it would want almost stall out but once everything got dry its back to normal

Get a leak down test done by a professional and they can narrow it down to the valve, seals, etc... Then go from there.
And yeah, you didn't hydro"lock". You came close. I hydrolocked and had bent rods and 3 holes in my block. That's hydrolocking! Doh!!

normally hydrolock doesnt bend valve it bends rods. you probably bent a rod slightly, allowing it to run, but not well. a compression test will give you a indication. also try pulling your plugs put a straight edge across the volve cover and a rod down the sparkplug holes. a long screw driver will work. maje sure pistons are coming up equal distance. 1 and 4 2 and 3 are companion cylinders i think (maybe wrong) they will be at the same place on each stroke. or you can drop the pan and look at the rods from below. I bet you money that one has a slight bend in it. I did the same thing. its easy to fix. drop the pan and pull the head. pop the pistons out the top. have new rods pressed on and reassemble. sounds ghetto but i did it 40k and 200+lbs of nitrous ago.
Btw did you change your oil?

i hydrolocked my old 87 crx prob 3 times.
i just cranked and cranked and cranked and it shot out all the extra gas and whatever else, big clouds of smoke. drove it the rest of the day. changed the plugs at home... ran stong forever...

Ahhh...someone from my hometown...rare sight.
I would definitely do a compression test. Chances are you may have bent a rod slightly and it's causing the odd noise at low rpm's...you would think it would cause it higher up though. What kind of noise is it making? Like a rod knocking sound or a clicking sound?

Thanks to an AEM CAI without the bypass and a flashflood at the low part of a roadway... Needless to say, my wife does not drive my car anymore after that incident.
