Tranny swap on my B18b1 with GSR tranny, going to b16. will old clutch work?
I am doing a swap on my LS motor and I had a GSR tranny on there with a GSR clutch. IF i go to the B16 tranny will it work? I just put a Stage 2 clutch and flywheel and do not want to have to get a new one thanks.
i am looking for a Definit answer. no Should work. i have gone off that before with my swap and had to buy parts 2 times instead of the right one the first time.
What year is the b16 trans? I'm assuming you are going from a hydro gsr to hydro b16, in that case YES the clutch will work. The only way the clutch will not work is if you got a 1st gen b16 trans(90-91). Those 2 years have a different spline count.
For what i'm assuming you are doing your clutch will be fine!

I swapped a 95 SiR B16A tranny into my 95 LS Teg. Your stock integra clutch and flywheel will work fine. The B16A tranny is geared the same as the USDM Type R and the 96 Spec Type R. The differential size is whats the difference between them. The JDM and the I think USDM R trannys are double syncroed 1st thru 5th. The GSR is a "medium" between the LS and B16A IMO. The GSR has a higher final drive than the LS but does not have as low of gearing as the B16A tranny. If you dont go on the highway alot I would suggest the B16A tranny. If your going on the highway alot I would suggest the GSR tranny.
Because the GSR tranny i got was a piece of ****, It doesnt work there are gears 2 gears that are missing teeth and i dont want to mess with it. Anyone that would like some spare parts I am more than willing to give it up for a little cash. 95 GSR tranny appr. 40,000 miles on it. goes to highest bidder.
I have a 95 LS, when I put on my 00 b16 tranny, the flywheel and pressure plate where the same, but Im pretty sure the splines were different than the LS, so I had to get the disc for the b16
