light ticking sound in valvetrain please help???
i recently put together an Ls motor to swap into my teg,car seems to be running fine but it has a little tick, i thought that i needed a valve adjustment so i had that done, What else could be making the valverain tick, and if its not the valvetrain could it be a small sign of detination?, if so what could i do to help with my issue,Could i have some kind of a timing issue??????????
If you are running an aftremarket header, the material used is thinner than stock so you can hear the valves ticking. If you have done a valve adjustment, they are probably ok.

Thanks beavis, I do run an aftermarket header so that could be what is causing it, but ive heard that this type of sound could be caused by some small amount of detination, im wondering if ignition timing could be off a hair, i did mark the distributor when i started the rebuild but it could be off a little, i need a timing light.Could this affect anything with these symptoms?

yes. get a timing light and make sure your timing is correct. knocking and pinging sounds like bb's in a can.
