Default .......

You could always hook up a led to your VTEC solenoid and see if it lights up. Also, can't you just tell if it's working?

I'm not too technical, but on my vtec(that which I have on the VX) I can usually hear a whine when I hit 4000rpm.

hook a oil pressure guage up to the fitting on the head, next to the vtec solenoid, then drive the car. if it jump from 0psi to 75 psi or so, you know the everything up to and including the vtec solenoid is good. if there is a mechanical problem after the solenoid, you need to put 70 psi of air pressure to the aforemention fitting in the head and check vtec manually. it's all in the manual (helms) folks.
