spoon throttle body
Put a spoon trottle body on my itr yesterday and i lost 2bhp al across the rev range.
Lucky i got to try it out before buying it would have been very unhappy to have forked out cash only to find out i dropped power.

2hp is within repeatable dyno errors.... but you also shouldn't be loosing anything to a TB that IS a stock ITR tb with just a taper from the outside. All it does if focus the air a little more.

A spoon sticker alone right about your exhaust adds 5+ whp, so i'd hope a whole throttle body adds more than 2.....

I hope that isn't targeted at me... and is just the usual... I post in the R forum and don't feel like being usefull post.

I almost bought the Spoon T/B but the shop offered to bore out my stock ITR T/B to Spoon spec for $150. Butt dyno said better throttle response and a minimal gain.

Just for reference also... http://www.maxbore.com, a HT sponsor, does that for $100 and for 60 more you can get the IM matched to it.

yeah i made the mistake a while back buying a spoon throttle body. should have saved my money and done the itb setup then. just have you stock one bored out. you could have 4 stock ones bored out for the price of the spoon one.

Two or three's about right, and even that's only with a fairly well built-out motor.
The SpoonTB is one of the last things most of us would do.

I think I just answered my question while asking it?

I think it was designed to fit in their groupN (this the right race group?) rules. Which basically made for a very stock car. Thus the spoon engine being mainly just blueprinted and balanced, not real upgrades. I'd assume they couldn't alter the butterfly or inside bore of the TB so they did what they could under the rules and tapered from 70mm to stock.

WOW...ok...sunday morning, everyone's hung over and can't read my sarcasm...haha, it was a joke....and i wouldn't suggest a 70mm TB unless you're either A)boosted, or B)have a SERIOUSLY built N/A motor

When i actually installed the spoon throttle body i taught my car felt more responsive and maybe a small bit quicker but then again maybe i was just imagining it as you know sometimes when you install new bits it feels like it should be faster. So i was dissapointed when i got it rolled. then i changed back to my old throttle body now my head is wrecked cause i dont know if the car is less responsive or not.

Well it's not a 70mm TB, it's a stock ITR at the plate, but it is tapered down from 70mm instead of ~66mm as the stock one.
