Default Using JB Weld to fix a Crankshaft?

Similar to that damage.... (maybe a little longer)

JB Weld claims it can hold up to 500 Degrees... and its as hard as steel once dried... Any Ideas..input etc...

I think he is going to use the jb weld to fix the chunk missing where the key goes, man I know those things fit in there tight so most likely you still have enough of the area to hold the key in place but if you want just a little bit of added strength go for it, it couldnt hurt.

Jb weld could crack, yes it would be good for added saftey but if your really looking for something that will hold. Check this stuff out

http://www.coolchem.com

Its a space age glue that needs a special chemical to react to foam the hold. I would buy this stuff, then use jb weld to be on the safe side.

aww what . That glue should really be advertised more but I think the company is so little it can't afford it.

I have seen the stuff in action, the guy glued an alternator belt back together and no one could rip it apart.

He was gluing aluminum to wood, wood to rubber, plastic to wood and so on.

And they say JB weld will fix anything.

Actually take it to your local welder, and see if they can fill in the chip with a good weld.
Anyone good at welding can make it perfect and still fit the woodruff key snuggly.

He is not looking for the woodruf key, can you all not see the chunk of metal missing from the crank shaft end where the keys goes? Everyone keeps saying to get one at the junkyard but it is obvious that he is not talking about the key.
