Power steering question... Part 2
Okay looking at that picture above, Can anyone tell me which hose I need to loop where when removing power steering?
My 2nd part of the question... YOu see all those tubes that go all to the front of the car and stuff.. Is there a way to remove all of that crap and still have the looping PS rack working? Because it seem slike a lot of **** to just have sitting in the bay
yeah that picture is from a model that has a ps cooler. which i havent seen on a civic or integra ever...
but yeah loop the inlet and outlet side of the rack.... then you can remove the pump and resoviour

cool thx. but yea i know to loop the inlet and outlet but I dont know which tube is the inlet or outlet so i was wondering if u could point out on the picture which ones to loop
ok well i know the big line on the top of the pump is one...
the problem is you posted a picture of a ps sytems that uses a cooler which like i said i have not seen on any civic or integra....
but from looking at the picture, the two hardlines that attach to the rack right next to the where the steerign colum meets to it, either one or both of those lines need to be blocked off...
which car are you trying to do this on? i want to make sure i tell you what you need to do with the right picture.

yeah, every 94+ Teg and 92+ civic i've seen with P/S has the cooler.
pic from a 92 Si:

and a 94 Integra:

i've tried two different methods.on one car i just plugged all three holes after getting all the fluid out of the rack(i removed the hard lines and welded the pipe fittings closed).on another i used a T fitting to loop all three fittings together.both have been like this for a few years with no problems at all,and the car with the plugged fittings doesn't have any higher steering effort than the other.

most cars do have ps coolers, at least every honda i owned did at one point...the other thread tells it pretty well, its kinda hard to explain it, there's several ways of doing it, dry rack, wet rack, keeping some lines, removing them all and just looping in the one place (in that pic) its all preference in how you want to do it
well damn learn something new everyday....
out of the 30-40 hondas i have worked on i have yet to see one with this cooler....
maybe i wasnt paying attention to it..... but oh well glad you got the info you needed
