test pipe length for jdm dc 4-1
I have searched and I have came up with a lot of different lengths for the test pipe so I decided to get an official answer. I am using a jdm dc 4-1 header on my gsr with stock piping. How long exactly does my test pipe need to be to fit this perfectly?
you best bet it to take it to an exhaust shop and get it done once, and correctly.
The last thing you want to do it be 1" short and have to get things redone.

yea, but lets be real... thats a bit much for a test pipe considering you can make one for a lot less right?

the car is a two door. The header is from a 96 gsr but my piping is the same year as my car (99). I just want to know the length so i dont have to take my car to the shop. All the muffler shops around wont put on a test pipe.

No, the DC JDM 4-1 is about 1/2" longer than a USDM LS or ITR header.

The OMNI is fully adjustable from 12"-15"

So obviously it's a different size than your cat or you wouldn't be asking. Take the plates off the car and tow it to the exhuast shop and tell them it's an off-road-track only vehicle so you don't need a cat. They shouldn't charge more than $20-$30 to do it. Of course call them to see if they will do it before you go through the trouble of getting a trailer to take it down there.
hey pbizzlegsr, back in august last year, i read that you had a clicking sound coming from the head after an oil change. did you ever find out what the problem was because i did the same thing and am having virtually the same hypothetical clicking.

i think this is your best bet too....i just got a cat from smps.......
i told them i had a jdm dc header and rsr exhaust....they had the diameters right but the length was a little off and the muffler shop ended up having to cut it anyways....
just go to the shop and have them do it
