The hole in the firewall is right below the battery, it is the main harness for the car. You will have to take out the battery and battery tray to make your like easy. This hole will come right inside the footwell on the passenger side. For the remote wire, if you have a aftermarket CD player it will be the blue wire, not sure on the stock harness though.

Yup, just did this with my 98. If you're good and have enough petroleum and some skill you can get the rubber to stretch and get the power cable through without any cutting. I did this with an 8 gauge cable.

that should have pics that will help you... Its a 2000 EX, but they are the same chassis basically correct? So check that page out, and you should be able to find good places for all the wires to run as well as where to run them in dash. If you have any trouble, I might be able to find more pics, and such, or describe something unclear to you

That is a good write up, but if you don't want to chance distortion, run the rcas down the middle under the carpet. The main harness to the trunk runs down the drivers side panel.

aye it does, but ive yet to get any distortion, and those wires seem to be shielded pleanty. It is also a fairly easy place to put it, short of removing the carpet you know?

If he wanted to keep it easy, he could run the power cable on the other side.. but you want that as short as possible... so running it another 5-6 feet through the dash would not work out too well as far as I know.

Ive got longer cables than I need, so I should be more suseptable to drop and interferance... But I have none yet, so I can vouch for these locations working great. At least with my wire sets.

Yeah I never actually pulled the carpet. U just took out the center console and fished it under throught the several opening under there. But that it just my opinion because it saved my about $10 on the rcas.
