it was running fine but now it is acting like it is out of gas
ok here is the deal i have a b16 in my civic and it was running smooth, little things here and there with it but it was running good. out of no where the engine started to act up like it was running out of gas! but that is impossible i have a half of tank of 93 oct sitting in the tank. ok so i did the following. took the plugs out they where a nice light brown (not to rich not too lean) since i had the plugs out i did a compression test and i got 220 all accross. took off the fuel line. had fuel pumping when i turned the key. took the injectors out but left them on the fuel rail got a nice symphony of gas spay so that rules out fuel. timing now i took off the valve cover put the crank at TDC the arrows where perfect right up there not even a tooth off. i tried playing with the dizzy when my boy was starting it and it wanted to start but it didn't. what could i be looking at why is it wanting to start but something is not letting it?!!!
maybe the ignition module in the dizzy does it want to fire at all?? check firing order....ok here's something to do pull a wire out stick a spark plug in it and put it against a good ground turn car over and see if there is constant spark or not that will rule out dizzy or not sry for the novel -tim
Yea I would say check for spark. If no spark it could be the ignitor or coil in the dizzy. Simple little thing could be the ECU fuse in the underhood fuse box. (90% it not but worth a check)
If you're using adjustable cam gears take a look to see if they slipped. When they slip the engine won't idle and is lazy. With the cold weather they can loosen up.

yeah i took out the plugs and they where not consitant so it is the dizzy but the only thing is the dizzy is so rusted out that even if i replace the coil and the ignitor the plugs are so messed up it will not hold it right. the dizzy is the last thing i have to replace on this engine after that i have replaced everything in it i am telling you i got screwed hard buy Hmotorsonline.com don't buy from them
as for the adjustable cams i have stock cams in there and it was working just fine the ecu fuse is in perfect shape so the only thing it comes down to is the dizzy!
